Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcano in Curepipe, Mauritius. It is about 600 meters high, 300 meters in diameter, 1 KM in circumference, and 80 meters deep.
It is a green sanctuary full of beautiful trees and plants, and is a great spot for walkers and joggers as the 360-degree view at the top is spectacular. There are even benches to rest and enjoy the beautiful view of the city and a large part of the island.
Although Trou aux Cerfs has not erupted for over 100,000 years, experts believe it could become active again any time within the next 1,000 years.
